§ 01Mission
etiasapply.eu.com exists to help travelers understand ETIAS, EES, and related European entry rules through plain-language explanations rooted in primary EU sources. We write for general audiences, not specialists. We prioritize accuracy, clarity, and currency — in that order.
§ 02Sources and sourcing standards
Wherever practical, we cite primary sources: the underlying EU regulations (notably Regulation (EU) 2018/1240 for ETIAS and Regulation (EU) 2017/2226 for EES), European Commission communications, eu-LISA status reports, Frontex operational updates, and statements from national interior ministries. Secondary sources (reputable news outlets, academic analyses) are used for context and are identified as such.
Dates, fees, and country lists are the most time-sensitive facts on the Site. We verify these against official sources on every review cycle.
§ 03Review process
- Every substantive page is drafted by a researcher or editor and reviewed by at least one other person before publication.
- News items that rely on a single source are marked and supplemented with primary documentation as soon as available.
- High-impact pages (requirements, application process, news alerts) are reviewed quarterly and whenever a material change occurs.
§ 04Updates, dating, and versioning
Every article shows a "Last updated" date. When a page is materially revised (not cosmetically), the date is updated and, where helpful, a short change note is added. Superseded claims are corrected in place; we do not silently alter history.
§ 05Corrections
If you find a factual error, email us (see §8). We investigate promptly, correct the content where warranted, and — for substantive corrections — add a dated correction note to the article. We do not correct differences of opinion; we correct facts.
§ 06Independence & disclosures
- No advertiser, affiliate partner, or outside party has editorial approval over our content.
- Affiliate relationships, when present, are disclosed on the relevant page and do not determine what we publish.
- We do not accept payment, free services, or gifts in exchange for favorable coverage of ETIAS resellers.
§ 07AI-assisted drafting
We may use AI tools to assist with drafting, summarizing primary documents, and producing explanatory tables. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human before publication. Errors that slip through are ours to fix.
