§ 01What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixel tags, and fingerprinting scripts. They let a site remember your preferences, understand how visitors use it, and — in some cases — show targeted advertising.
§ 02Categories we use

- Functional: remember preferences you set — dark mode, calculator state, trip-planner drafts stored locally.

§ 04Local storage
Our interactive tools store data in your browser's local storage so they work offline and remember your inputs. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser storage will reset these tools.
§ 05Third-party cookies
Certain pages may embed third-party content (for example, a video player or a social widget) that sets its own cookies. We list any such embeds in the cookie banner and attempt to use privacy-respecting alternatives where possible.
